GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office says a woman whose body was found south of Emma might have died of exposure.

Undersheriff Ron Ryan tells The Glenwood Springs Post Independent (https://bit.ly/1vhyrAU ) nothing suggests that foul play was involved in the death of 44-year-old Claudia Ruiz, of Silt. Ruiz got on a bus in Glenwood Springs on May 17, and surveillance video showed her getting off near El Jebel, several miles from where she was found by a rancher May 23.

Family members said during the search they were especially concerned because Ruiz didn’t have medication she needed for a mental condition.

Ryan says Ruiz, who was found naked, could have died of hypothermia or hyperthermia, although a final ruling has yet to be made.
