LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Within weeks, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will transfer management of its on-campus health center to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/1kUHfcY ) that the transfer will take place on July 1. UNMC will form a long-range plan on how to operate the health center with input from students, faculty, staff and the health center’s advisory board.

Chancellor Harvey Perlman presented the plan to health center staff Thursday.

UNL had worked with a Lincoln hospital system, Bryan Health, to take over operations of the center and build a new $14.4 million building by December 2014, but the University of Nebraska Board of Regents rejected the contract.
