ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York officials have nominated 28 sites for addition to the have been nominated to the state and national registers of historic places.
The proposed Barge Canal Historic District includes four historic branches of the modern system.
Once approved by the state historic preservation officer, the properties are listed on the state register then nominated to the national register.
Other proposed sites include the Jamestown Downtown Historic District, a collection of 101 buildings in the Chautauqua County city; Dover Stone Church in Dover Plains, Dutchess County, and Nassau Brewing Company in Brooklyn.
