FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Police are investigating after three people died in a fiery car crash in southwest Florida.

Fort Myers police say the car was completely engulfed in flames when they arrived Saturday night. Rescuers tried to save the three victims, but Police Lieutenant Jay Rodriguez said in a news release they died from the impact and subsequent fire.

The News-Press reports (https://tinyurl.com/omhtl7q) the victims were not identified and no other details about the crash were released.
