AVONDALE, La. (AP) - The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission has opened a conference center at the Churchill Business and Technology Park on the parish’s west bank.

The New Orleans Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/SGDvAe ) the 8,000-square-foot center can seat up to 150 people, with a reconfigurable main hall and breakout rooms for seminars, corporate retreats and training and recruitment events.

The conference center is intended to be used primarily by future tenants at the still mostly undeveloped 500-acre business and technology park between the TPC Louisiana golf course and Bayou Segnette State Park.

JEDCO executive director Jerry Bologna says the center also should be a draw for the business community on both banks of the Mississippi River in Jefferson Parish.
