CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - An executive director of a Faulkner County nonprofit has been charged with forgery and theft of property after allegedly embezzling money from the organization.

The Log Cabin Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1qhAqoW ) that Reva “Rennia” Johnston was arrested Thursday.

The board of the Faulkner County Council on Developmental Disabilities found in an internal audit forged checks totaling more than $12,000.

Johnston was fired from the position.

She told the newspaper that she has a severe gambling addiction, which she is trying to seek help for.
