CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Mining Association is scheduled to hold its annual convention this week in Jackson Hole.

The convention begins Wednesday and runs through Friday at the Jackson Lake Lodge near Moran.

Gov. Matt Mead is scheduled to address the convention’s annual Safety and Reclamation Awards Luncheon on Friday.

In addition, the convention will hear from the University of Wyoming President Richard McGinity, James Ogsbury of the Western Governors Association, Stuart Sanderson of the Colorado Mining Association) and others.

The convention will also host a forum for candidates seeking the office of Wyoming Secretary of State.

The Wyoming Mining Association represents and advocates for 39 mining companies producing bentonite, coal, trona and uranium, as well as one company developing a rare earth minerals mine.
