FRUITLAND, Utah (AP) - Crews are working to contain a 290-acre lightning sparked-fire in Duchesne County.

Fire spokesman Louis Haynes says the fire was reported Friday afternoon about nine miles south of Fruitland in the Ashley National Forest.

Haynes says the fire was about 25 percent contained Monday morning.

About 170 firefighters are assigned to the blaze, which is burning heavy timber in a steep canyon that can only be accessed by foot.

No structures are threatened and no roads have been closed.

Haynes says crews were able to gain some ground on the fire on Sunday and hope to have it fully contained by the end of Tuesday.
