DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police used ground radar to search the basement of a Des Moines house in connection with a woman who went missing more than 50 years ago.

Detective Danny White told KCCI-TV (https://bit.ly/1pahpB3 ) that officers were checking the south-side home Monday after receiving tips about Darlene Fitchett, who has been missing since 1960. Fitchett was in her late 20s or early 30s when she went missing.

Her family told police they strongly believe Fitchett was killed and buried in the home’s basement. White says it “isn’t just a hunch.”

So far, police using the radar haven’t found anything but plan to keep looking.
