CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - Eastern Illinois University’s board of trustees hopes to begin the search for a new school president this fall.

The board has named the 18 members of the search committee that will look for candidates to replace President Bill Perry. The committee includes four trustees, three faculty members and Charleston Mayor Larry Rennels.

The Mattoon Journal-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1i1ZGgI ) that the university in Charleston will hold community forums to get input on the decision.

Perry has been president of Eastern Illinois University since 2007. Earlier this year he announced plans to retire in 2015.
