PITTSBURGH (AP) - A family doctor from Pittsburgh’s North Hills suburbs faces at least five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving child pornography on his computer.

Forty-eight-year-old Dr. Mark Janosko, of McCandless, pleaded guilty before a federal judge in Pittsburgh on Monday and will return for sentencing Oct. 9, when he faces up to 20 years in prison.

Investigators who traced several images to Janosko’s home found thousands more images on his home computer when they searched it last July. The sexually explicit images involved boys aged 5 to 14.

The Allegheny County district attorney’s office also reviewed the case, but determined there was no evidence that the images involved any of Janosko’s patients or inappropriate conduct with them by the doctor.

Janosko’s state medical license remains suspended.
