MANY, La. (AP) - A Father’s Day fight in Sabine Parish sent a father to jail and his son to the hospital.

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office tells The Times (https://bit.ly/1pC70ll ) that deputies arrested 46-year-old Thomas L. Shoemaker, of Many, after he allegedly stabbed his son Sunday because “he had jumped on him.”

Shoemaker took his 21-year-old son to the Sabine Medical Center emergency room for treatment after the alleged incident. Authorities say Shoemaker’s son, whose name was not released, was later transported to University Health in Shreveport, where he is listed in fair condition.

The sheriff’s office says Shoemaker was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center on a charge of aggravated second-degree battery. Bond information and whether he had an attorney was not immediately available.
