HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) - An 83-year-old Hamilton man has been arrested on suspicion of trying to kill another man by hitting him with a pickup truck.

Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman said Monday the man was arrested early Saturday evening.

Undersheriff Steve Holtman identified him as 83-year-old Thomas Esley Day.

Day was booked into jail Saturday night and was being held without bond on suspicion of attempted deliberate homicide.

Hoffman says the 64-year-old victim suffered head injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Hoffman says the victim had been staying with the suspect at his residence north of Hamilton.
