CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan has issued an executive order directing state agencies to develop action plans within 30 days of audits and to make regular reports on their progress.

Hassan said Monday the goal is to ensure state government is operating as efficiently and transparently as possible.

The order applies to audits released since January.

As part of their plan, agencies will also identify what findings must be addressed by other entities, including the Legislature in the form of changes to laws, rules or funding allocations, the federal government, or the governor and Executive Council.

Agencies will also be required to report twice a year on their progress.

Hassan also directed that agency action plans and progress reports be posted on TransparentNH, with a link to the original audit.
