BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) - Formal charges are expected to be filed Friday against a man arrested in in the disappearance of a 19-year-old Pueblo woman.

Twenty-three-year-old Christopher Adam Waide appeared in Adams County District Court in Brighton on Monday, four days after his arrest on suspicion of murder and sexual assault in the disappearance of Lea Chali Porter.

The Denver Post reports (https://tinyurl.com/nje7pj7 ) Waide was handcuffed and stared straight ahead during most of the hearing. He hasn’t entered a plea.

Porter was last seen while visiting a friend or friends in the Denver suburb of Westminster. Her body hasn’t been found, but Westminster police have said Waide is cooperating in the search.

Waide is being held without bond.

Investigators have said Waide and Porter attended the same high school and recently reconnected on Facebook.
