SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - A northern Indiana man who police say was drunk when a passenger in the minivan was killed when her head hit a telephone pole guy wire while she leaned out the window has been charged with three felony counts and two misdemeanor counts.

Twenty-three-year-old Kyle Papa of Mishawaka is charged with driving while intoxicated resulting in death of another person, leaving the scene of an accident after driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, driving without a license and two marijuana charges.

It was not immediately known if he had hired an attorney. He was being held Monday in the St. Joseph County Jail on $5,000 cash bond.

A probable cause affidavit says Amanda Ezra was killed early Sunday when she leaned out the window because she was sick.
