JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Tuition will rise at nine of Mississippi’s 15 public community colleges this fall, with average tuition for two semesters (fall and spring) rising about 4 percent to $2,476. Here are the rates each college has approved or proposed to the state Community College Board, as well as the percentage change from the 2013-2014 academic year:
- Coahoma: $2,300, unchanged
- Copiah-Lincoln: $2,550, 8.5 percent
- East Central: $2,210, unchanged
- East Mississippi: $2,606, 0.2 percent
- Hinds: $2,500, 10.6 percent
- Holmes: $2,288, unchanged
- Itawamba: $2,400, 9.1 percent
- Jones: $2,722, unchanged
- Meridian: $2,314, unchanged
- Mississippi Delta: $2,520, 2.9 percent
- Mississippi Gulf Coast: $2,492, 0.8 percent
- Northeast Mississippi: $2,322, unchanged
- Northwest Mississippi: $2,550, 13.3 percent
- Pearl River: $2,750, 9.6 percent
- Southwest Mississippi: $2,620, 9.2 percent
