NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A suburban Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in the death of his infant daughter.

Thirty-year-old Edward Doyle of Upper Moreland pleaded guilty Monday to killing his 2-month-old daughter Makayla in February 2013.

Doyle sobbed Monday as he pleaded guilty, saying he’d trade places with his daughter if he could.

Doyle claims he fell on top of the infant after drinking heavily, picked her up, stumbled again and her head hit a wall. The girl suffered multiple rib injuries and skull fractures.

Sentencing will be scheduled later.
