EUTAWVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a weekend boating accident on Lake Marion that left one man dead and resulted in a boating under the influence charge against another.

Authorities say it happened Saturday evening when a boat hit a buoy neat Redbank Landing just outside of Eutawville.

Natural Resources Department Capt. Robert McCullough says there were four people in the boat and three were thrown into the water. One was killed. The name of the victim has not been released.

McCullough says 43-year-old Robert Davis of Rembert is being held at the Orangeburg County jail on a charge of felony boating under the influence. It was not immediately clear if Davis had an attorney.
