LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) - East Texas authorities say a man suspected in the shooting deaths of two people in Longview has been arrested after a police chase that went into nearby Tyler.

Longview police say after responding to the scene of a shooting in which two people died and a third was injured Sunday morning, officers located the suspect fleeing the scene in his vehicle. Officers attempted to stop him, but he fled to Tyler, about 35 miles to the west.

Tyler police say they tried to deploy spike strips to stop the suspect, but were unsuccessful. Eventually, the suspect stopped in an intersection and was arrested. There were at least two firearms in his vehicle.
