WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - The city of Williston plans to spend $1.75 million to purchase a building downtown to house its burgeoning building and planning departments.

The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1si5wie ) that the cost is a negotiated figure with seller Fortuna LLC from the original asking price of $1.9 million.

Officials say the new building will provide the departments more space and more room to serve the public.

Officials say the city plans to renovate and move its staff into the building at the end of the year.
