A national tea party group is pulling out a secret weapon for state State Chris McDaniel’s Senate campaign in Mississippi: legendary game show host Chuck Woolery.

Tea Party Express announced Tuesday that Mr. Woolery, perhaps best-known for his stint on “Love Connection,” and nationally syndicated radio host Lars Larson will be taking part in the “Elect Chris McDaniel” bus tour that kicks off Friday.

Earlier this month, Mr. McDaniel forced six-term Senator Thad Cochran into a June 24 run-off race.

“There is a strong sentiment of frustration with career politicians that continue to put the old politics of ‘kicking the can down the road’ in front of solutions,” said Taylor Budowich, executive director of the Tea Party Express. “They are ready for a new generation of conservative leaders, and we will be doing our part rallying these voters this coming weekend.”
