HOLLANDALE, Miss. (AP) - Five candidates are running Tuesday in a special election to replace late Hollandale Mayor Freddie Love.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Candidates are running without party designations.

The Delta Democrat-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1qWkDcy ) the candidates are Alderwoman Janice Johnson-Ford, Etter Anderson, Gary Caldwell, former Alderman Charles Morrow and Johnnie Mackin.

Love died in April from complications of a respiratory condition. He was 67.

Love had been in office less than three months. Love was elected in a special election in January to replace late Mayor Melvin Willis Sr., who died in office in November.

Johnson-Ford has performed the mayor’s duties since Love’s death.
