LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Frazier History Museum in downtown Louisville has hired an interim director to help guide the attraction at least through the end of the year.

The appointment of Paula Turner Hale follows the recent retirement of the museum’s former director, Madeline Burnside.

Hale is a local development professional who has been consulting with The Frazier during the last year.

Hale will oversee administration, operations and marketing of the 10-year-old museum.

Frazier board Chairman Walter Crutcher says plans are underway for a national search for a permanent director.

The Frazier is in the final stage of a $2 million campaign to fund a construction project that will double classroom and education areas, remodel the museum’s entrance and relocate the gift ship to expand exhibit space.
