BEND, Ore. (AP) - Police say a 46-year-old man accused of robbing a Columbia Bank branch in Bend, Oregon, has been arrested in the Marion County city of Stayton, Oregon.

KTVZ-TV reports (https://is.gd/e09LHj ) that Bend police say Gary K. Peterson of Mitchell was arrested late Monday afternoon. The bank was robbed earlier in the day.

Peterson was arrested for investigation of third-degree robbery and second-degree theft.

Lt. Nick Parker says efforts are underway to return Peterson to Deschutes County.
