PALMER, Alaska (AP) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned Wednesday near Palmer by the Valley Community for Recycling Solutions for its renovated recycling center.

The 11 a.m. ceremony will be held in the newly renovated building located just west of the Animal Care building in Palmer. The building is named the Regional Resource Recovery and Training Park, and renovations were made possible by funding from the federal, state and borough governments, among other sources.

The 23,600-square-foot building features a new baler and an enclosed, residential drive-thru area for people dropping off materials to be recycled.
