ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A murder trial is underway for a 32-year-old Rochester man charged with killing two men and injuring a police officer.

Ralph Strong faces two counts of first-degree murder, attempted aggravated murder of a police officer, assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to cause serious injury, and reckless endangerment.

Police say Strong shot and killed 31-year-old Jahmia Singleton and 27-year-old Reggie Johnson outside a Rochester nightclub last June.

Authorities say when Strong was spotted three days later, he tried to flee and shot and injured a police sergeant before being apprehended.

Strong’s sister also has been charged in connection with the crime and faces a separate trial. Police say she helped Strong hide from police following the double homicide.
