VAIL, Colo. (AP) - A man accused of stealing at least a quarter of a million dollars while managing a Vail liquor store has been given a deferred prison sentence and must repay the money.

The Vail Daily reported (https://bit.ly/1lXr7b1 ) Wednesday that Robert “Mickey” Werner pleaded guilty to felony theft. He acknowledged stealing from Alpine Wine and Spirits over a four-year stretch ending with his arrest in February.

Prosecutors say Werner stole some of the money through cash refunds and altering bank deposits. He was arrested on Valentine’s Day.
