FARGO, N.D. (AP) - An 11-year-old boy from Fargo is celebrating the one-year anniversary of living with his new lungs.

WDAY-TV (https://bit.ly/1ypAGVg ) reports Jordan Peterson and his family threw a special party this week to commemorate the day in which he underwent a lung transplant after months of waiting and several false alarms.

Peterson says he is the best shape of his life and plans to play football next fall. He recently took a fishing trip to Lake of the Woods and plans to go to Alaska with his family this summer.

Peterson’s father, Dan, says his son thinks of the donor’s family every day.
