TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say a man in Tahlequah was killed after crashing his car during a pursuit by police.

Tahlequah Police Chief Nate King says the chase began after the driver went through a four-way stop at about 70 miles mph early Thursday. He says a police officer witnessed the incident and attempted to pull over the car, which then sped away.

King tells Tulsa television station KOTV (https://bit.ly/1qhw2nx ) that the officer eventually backed off from his pursuit because of low visibility. A few minutes later, the officer discovered the car rolled over and the driver ejected from it.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
