EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Northwestern’s men’s basketball team is gaining some experience and size with the addition of a center who spent the last four years playing for Yale.

In a news release, coach Chris Collins announced Thursday that fifth-year senior Jeremiah Kreisberg will be on the Northwestern roster for the 2014-15 season.

The 6-foot-10 Kreisberg has appeared in 84 games - starting 55 of them - over his first three seasons at Yale before he sat out last season with an injury.

In 2011, he was named the team’s Freshman of the Year after averaging 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds a game. The next year he averaged 7.7 points and 5.1 rebounds a game. Off-season back surgery slowed him during his junior year, when he averaged 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds a game.
