BYLAS, Ariz. (AP) - Four people are dead after a head-on crash involving a car and a pickup truck in eastern Arizona.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the accident occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 70 in the small Graham County community of Bylas, about halfway between Globe and Safford.

DPS officials say three passengers in the car were dead at the scene and another was pronounced dead at a Tucson hospital.

The driver of the sedan remained hospitalized Friday in guarded condition.

DPS officials say the driver of the truck was treated and released.

The names of the dead and injured weren’t immediately released. DPS officials say an investigation of the fatal crash is continuing.

Authorities say the accident occurred about a mile west of the Bylas Bridge.
