DENVER (AP) - The FBI is seeking two men who made off with more than $1.5 million in two armed bank heists that officials say are among the largest in Colorado history.

Authorities believe the same men who robbed a Wheat Ridge bank on Monday are also behind a January robbery in Westminster.

Special Agent in Charge Thomas Ravenelle says the men forced tellers in both banks to the ground at gunpoint and rushed into the safe. They fled in stolen SUVs each time.

The robbers made off with nearly $1 million in January. An attorney later returned half to the FBI but did not say where it came from.

They fled with at least $500,000 on Monday.

Ravenelle says the men are increasingly brazen and he is worried they may be violent.
