LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - A Lawton man will face a trial in the choking death of his grandfather during a domestic dispute last summer.

Comanche County Special District Judge Ken Harris ruled Thursday that there was enough evidence for 28 year-old Aaron Paddyaker to stand trial on one count of manslaughter.

Paddyaker’s defense attorney argued that his client was acting in self-defense when he choked Bart Hewes because Hewes had aimed a shotgun at his head, according to The Lawton Constitution (https://bit.ly/1jCYlHS).

Hewes’ widow testified Thursday that her husband had aimed a gun at Paddyaker at least two times before the incident and had threatened to kill him.
