CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte police say an officer has shot and killed a man who was wanted for firing at officers earlier this week.

Police say 21-year-old Devaron Ricardo Wilburn was shot late Wednesday night in a confrontation with officers at a motel.

No other injuries were reported.

Investigators had been working to identify the man who fired at officers Monday night in Charlotte. Investigators had obtained a warrant for his arrested earlier Wednesday.

Police said Wilburn was shot when he pulled a gun and refused to surrender. Wilburn was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he died.

The shooting is still under investigation. Investigators have not determined who fired first.
