PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Two former employees at a northern New Jersey dental practice have been sentenced to five years’ probation for embezzling $200,000.

Arlene Marchese of Wayne and Karen Wright of Wyckoff were sentenced Friday in state Superior Court in Paterson.

They pleaded guilty in March to stealing from their employer, Belmont Dental Associates of Haledon.

The 35-year-old Marchese was an office manager and the 44-year-old Wright was a dental hygienist.

They admitted that between 2005 and 2011 they diverted checks from insurance companies and used the money for themselves. The Record (https://bit.ly/1pRor1h) reports both women have to pay back the money they stole or face up to five years in prison.
