SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Scottsdale firefighters say several dogs are still missing in a late night kennel fire that left five other canines dead.

Scottsdale fire spokesman Jay Ducote says crews returned to the scene Saturday morning of the burned out barn kennel near 120th Street and Mountain View Road.

Ducote says the homeowner has 15 dogs in total and 10 of them are kept in the barn kennel.

Authorities say five dogs are accounted for inside the home.

The five dead dogs were found in the north side of the barn structure.

Firefighters are still searching for the remaining five on the barn’s south side.

The cause of the blaze, which started Friday night, is still under investigation.
