WIGGINS, Miss. (AP) - State officials have given the city of Wiggins $240,000 to be used for extension of a bike pathway.

WDAM-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1r8YlEz) the money was presented Wednesday by Southern District Transportation Commissioner Tom King.

The bike pathway will be extended from Blaylock Park to Stone County Middle School and elsewhere in the city. The grant also will fund installation of lighting and trash receptacles along existing bike routes.

The money comes from the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternative Program, known as TAP.
