TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Runway lights at Tulsa International Airport failed to turn on twice during the past week - leading airport officials to remove a new monitoring system.

The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/Us6zgp ) that the lights first failed to turn on Tuesday night - causing a one hour delay of flights and leading three planes being diverted. The monitoring system was repaired and turned back on - but the lights failed to turn on again Thursday night.

Airport spokesman Daniel Meier says the monitoring system is now being removed.

Crews completed work earlier this month on a $55 million repair to the main runway and related work as part of a project that took three years to complete.
