NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a teenager was shot to death and four other people were hit within one hour in separate incidents in a Bronx neighborhood where police say shootings have spiked this year.

Police responding to a call Sunday just after 1 a.m. found a 17-year-old male fatally shot in the torso, a 17-year-old female with a wound to the left foot and a 17-year-old male hit in the right leg. The three were at an outdoor party.

An hour earlier, just blocks away, two men in their 30s were shot and wounded in the legs.

Police say shootings in the area are up by more than 80 percent over 2013.

The dead teen was identified as Keshon Porterfield; the names of the others were not immediately released.
