PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (AP) - The American Eagle Foundation is seeking help to find an escaped peregrine falcon named Scimitar.

WBIR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1uTzsx1 ) Scimitar got loose Saturday afternoon from the Pigeon Forge group’s weathering yard.

American Eagle Foundation President Al Cecere (SIS’-er-ee) said Scimitar is a former falconry bird who was donated to the group several years ago. She has not hunted for several years and is acclimated to people, so she could seek people out.

Cecere said the bird can be identified by the leather straps hanging from her ankles. He asks anyone who thinks they see her to snap a picture at text it to 865-809-3282 or 865-809-2385.
