LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a body was found floating in the Lower Niagara River and they are trying to identify the person.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office says it received a 911 call from a boater Saturday evening and the person said he came across the body. Authorities responded and recovered the body. They believe the person was either a Hispanic or black male. The victim was wearing black pants but authorities could find no identification.

An autopsy will be conducted.
