PORT GIBSON, Miss. (AP) - The body of a 16-year-old girl has been found in an apparent drowning in Bayou Pierre, while her 32-year-old cousin remains missing.

WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/T1wIRH) reports the body of Mary Jones of Jackson was found Sunday morning, while Douglas Wilson of Port Gibson remains missing.

Officials say Jones was located about 10 feet from where she went down into the water while swimming with Wilson and two others.

Claiborne County Sheriff Marvin Lucas says the girl went in too deep on Saturday afternoon and her cousin Wilson followed, trying to save her. Divers are working to locate Wilson’s body.

Authorities looked for the pair before dark Saturday, resuming their search Sunday morning. Lucas says two search teams are looking for Wilson and more divers are on the way.
