ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A man has died after he went under water near a beach platform at St. Paul’s Lake Phalen and did not resurface.

Ramsey County Sheriff Sgt. Jay Maher tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press the man was swimming by a beach platform around 8 p.m. Saturday when one of his family members reportedly saw him go under water. His body was recovered a short time later.

On Sunday, authorities identified the man as 22-year-old Roger Valle of St. Paul.

Authorities are investigating. The official cause of his death hasn’t been released.
