ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a man who drowned in a north Georgia lake has been recovered.

State Department of Natural Resources officials say a man jumped into Lake Allatoona Saturday and never resurfaced.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division spokesman Mark McKinnon tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/TlsdSv ) the man has been identified as 27-year-old Varun Krishnamurthy of India.

The man’s body was recovered Saturday evening, authorities have said the man dove into the Tanyard Creek portion of the lake.
