PITTSFORD, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a man was killed and three people were injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident on U.S. Route 7 near Pittsford.

Police say 24-year-old Justin Lertola, of Pittsford, was southbound about 3 p.m. Saturday when his car veered into the northbound lane on Route 7 and hit an oncoming sport utility vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police say the driver of the SUV, 66-year-old Donna Therrien, also of Pittsford, and her two teenage passengers were taken to a hospital. Police say Therrien suffered severe injuries. One of the teenagers had minor injuries and was released from the hospital.
