WACO, Texas (AP) - Waco firefighters have rescued a young woman who became stuck in thick brush while climbing on a cliff.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1iYtlC9 ) the woman, who authorities did not identify, had been climbing at Lawson’s Point in Cameron Park on Saturday. She reached a point where underbrush kept her from climbing up or down.

Assistant Waco Fire Chief Chris Pechacek said firefighters responded and a Department of Public Safety helicopter was able to spot her from above. Two firefighters climbed down to her using rappelling gear. Paramedics treated her at the scene and released her.
