NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 14-year-old girl was seriously wounded in a stabbing near a Bronx junior high school.

Police say the victim was stabbed twice in the torso while being assaulted by a group of three to five girls.

It happened at about 3 p.m. Monday about a block away from the Richard R. Green Education Campus on Barnes Avenue in Williamsbridge. It wasn’t clear of the victim was a student at the school.

Police say the victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where she was listed in serious condition.

There have been no arrests.

It was the second stabbing that happened close to a Bronx school in less than a week. On Wednesday, a 14-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by a classmate outside I.S. 117.
