LOS ANGELES (AP) - Three men have been sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for the murder of a Los Angeles man who chased them down after they had robbed his grandfather.

Prosecutors said 25-year-old Evin Ortiz, 30-year-old Edwin Bonilla and 32-year-old Rene Ramirez received the sentence Monday for the killing of 24-year-old Danilo Morales.

The three were given an additional life sentence for the attempted murder of Morales’s grandfather, 70-year-old Manuel Flores.

The three were convicted in November.

Authorities said the three robbed Flores after he parked his car in North Hollywood, and fired on him when he cried for help.

Morales came to help his grandfather and chased after the three men in his car, but he was shot in the head when he caught them.
