OCEAN BAY PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Two communities on Fire Island are being told to boil their water after test samples detected E. coli bacteria.

The Suffolk County Water Authority issued the alert on Saturday for residents of Ocean Bay Park and Point O’Woods.

Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/1jJ3ApH ) says test samples detected the bacteria on Saturday.

The authority says residents should boil water for one minute or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
